"I'm extremely sociable. I've got loads of friends!"
Or worse, "You know what, I have over 600 friends on Facebook!"
Stuff like this is pretty easy to say. For all you know, a good 500 out of those 600 may have accepted your request thinking, "Whatever!". Here's something to think about: How many of your friends can you be COMPLETELY yourself with? Of all the people you've been around, is there a single soul around whom you've not tried to pretend to be someone else??
I don't know about you, but this question leaves me a lot to think about. Sure, I've got friends with whom I share the world with, but there's always that fine line which even the purest of friendships cannot par. From your biggest feat to your gravest mistake, other people judge you ruthlessly, but you never judge yourself. You know that one fall-back does not say anything about you. You are the one person who knows exactly who and what you are.
Life would be a lot better without pressure, wouldn't it? The best way to ease pressure in some situations is to bring yourself into thinking this. You do have a responsibility to fulfil, but not towards your parents, not towards your friends, but towards YOURSELF. So, even if you fail, you have nobody but yourself to answer to. This will undoubtedly relax all the tension in your mind.
In short, life's what you make it! (Did I just quote Miley Cyrus?? :-/)
